Take A Step Forward To Control Your Stress!

~ A Health and Wellness Coach, Nurse, Low Glycemic Educator, Vision Board Coach, and Former Over Stressed & Burned out Nurse: Joyce Harrell, invites you to powerfully and confidently take a step forward to take control over your stress and and be empowered to gain control of your health and wellness – body, mind, and spirit ~

Dear Friends: I am so glad you have connected with me here on Fancy Scrubs! I have been a nurse over 21 years and have loved mostly every minute of it. There have been 3 distinct times in my nursing career where I was overwhelmed as a nurse to the point I needed to make a change. One of those times of stress and burnout was due to an overwhelming year and a half of personal stressors including the passing of my father, father in law, the death of my neighbor (also my patient and cousin) due to cancer at age 43, and my son was in Iraq. I ended up in such a personal depletion I left a job I thought I would never leave.

I then accepted a position where I worked weekend nights for over 4 years. So many factors played into my need to transition away from this position, but bottom line…I WAS FRIED.

I realized I needed a major change in my life while going through Wellness Coaching training. I realized I wasn’t well myself. I didn’t seek medication or other counseling but found my answers through learning to be well. During our training we had buddy coaches for clinic, and while I was the coach for some people, others were a coach for me.

I found my balance and peace by learning to say no to what I didn’t want, and yes to those decisions that were true to me. I learned how to breathe and set my intention for the things I wanted. I learned how to rid my mind of the negative mind tapes that played over and over in my head.

Breaking this unhealthy cycle takes determination, support, and knowledge! Even though I KNEW that ridding me of this continual negative stress would prevent many health issues, it wasn’t enough to keep me on the right track. I hadn’t developed my WHY. Developing your WHY is essential to your success. It’s what keeps you on track when you kit your proverbial brick wall.

I learned the secret to being well and balanced as a nurse. Utilizing things like vision planning, essential oils for stress and having a wellness coach, I learned how to empower the creativity and balance already inside me. I became well. I would love to see you balanced and whole again!

How do you successfully achieve the things that are most important to you while FEELING calm focused and supported along the way?
How DO YOU fight the stress, overwhelm or burnout?

I invite you to continue reading this blog as I share stress tips for you as a caregiver on the edge! The edge of your greatness is as real to obtain as going over the edge!

I utilize the Wellness Inventory Assessment, a 120 question in depth assessment to help you pinpoint your strengths and areas YOU are most motivated to change. I help YOU set goals for yourself to overcome areas and help bring balance to your life. I use tools such as visioning sessions, essential oils,(Peppermint, lavender, and lemon are my favorites) and nutritional help as we individualize your plan. The Wellness Inventory program is designed as program that can be a one on one plan or a group coaching plan. I often find groups are wonderful because there is so much learning achieved with interaction of others going through what you are going through.

Are you looking to transition away from traditional bedside nursing and have no idea how to do that?
